Inspired by the “Sweet Home Chicago” video featuring an all-star line-up of Chicago natives and stars who got their start in the Windy City performing the Blues anthem “Sweet Home Chicago” is the Sweet Home Chicago (Virtual) Halloween 5K. The virtual 5K Run, Walk or Step, over Halloween 2020 weekend, is being organized by Chicago’s business and civic community to help our live-performance venues and our creative community, struggling in the wake of COVID-19 closures.

Arts for Illinois Relief Fund

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented financial strain on the arts and cultural community. Since its launch on April 1, 2020, the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund has awarded grants to 2,493 artists and 269 organizations around the state. However, an unprecedented need remains. Live performance is uniquely impacted by this crisis, as for the most part venues are unable to open at lower capacities. All donations to the Sweet Home Chicago (Virtual) Halloween 5K will go directly to live-performance venues in financial need due to COVID-19 closures.
