"Tu Verras Tu Verras"
Music by Chico Buarque
Lyrics by Claude Nougaro
Performed by Ana Munteanu
Recorded Live at Vol.39 Chicago, 2019
Lyrics translated from the original French:
Ah, you’ll see, you’ll see,
Everything will start again, you’ll see, you’ll see,
Love, that’s what it’s made for, you’ll see, you’ll see
I’ll stop being foolish, I’ll learn my lesson,
On your fingertips, you’ll see, you’ll see,
You’ll have her, your house with blue tiles,
Plenty of hortensias, palmtrees filling the skies,
Blistering winters, near the angora cat,
And I will fall asleep, you will see, you will see,
The task done, laying against you,
With in my attics, my basements and my roofs,
All the dreams of the world

It Was A Rebellion has been in development for three years. An early version was performed as a pirate radio broadcast at Homan Square, a former Chicago Police Department black site. It mixes music from the Civil Rights Era and the Black Panther Party, news reports and political speeches, and ephemeral and symbolic sounds to articulate public expressions of Black rage.
It Was A Rebellion (House Mix) plays on the political roots of Black with a Chicago-style dance party vibe.
