A Memo to the Mayor from the West Side

10 minutes

On May 14, 2019, Jane Addams Hull-House Museum (JAHHM) gathered partners to craft a Memo to the Mayor from the West Side, prompted by the Chicago Community Trust's "On The Table" discussions and inspired by JAHHM Making the West Side project. Making the West Side: Community Conversations on Neighborhood Change is a Jane Addams Hull-House Museum project, originally funded through the National Endowment for the Humanities, that brings together scholars, activists, neighborhood residents, and other stakeholders to investigate the history of neighborhood change on Chicago’s West Side and connect those histories to contemporary issues and concerns. The youth of BBF Family Services located in the North Lawndale Community have a lot to say about what the West Side needs. Listen to them!

Jane Addams Hull-House Museum would like to thank: BBF Family Services Rufus Williams Yahkirah Beard (RhythmWerks Instructor) Waliy Eleim Tatino Williams and the youth of BBF Family Services. JAHHM would also like to thank: Angela Oliver, Aretha Sills and Skill Scout
