The Habit of Healing is an ongoing project capturing moments of life, of rebirth and of hope. These images, created just before and during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 chronicle the ongoing natural process of death, decomposition, regeneration, and growth.
Ever since I can remember, I've been taught to love nature. I was encouraged to explore the land we lived on, to walk through woods and wander through meadows, to treat the earth gently and respect my fellow creatures.
This composition was inspired by the palette of the Pacific ocean, rocky desert landscapes and textures of sea life.
There are different intentions for planting seeds and will produce many different results.
The subject for this pencil drawing is a fallen Douglas Fir tree that I saw after five days of hiking in Oregon.
The artist's desire is to take viewers on a blissful journey full of wonder and delight.

I bring my camera with me during my daily morning walks. I would take a picture of something I thought is beautiful or unique. I put all of my pictures I took together in a video.
