"Superstar" is the title song from Jesus Christ Superstar, the 1970 rock opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. In this musical, Jesus has developed a passionately devoted following. This has caused Judas (Ryan Shaw), one of his apostles, to fear a violent crackdown by the oppressive Roman regime. The high priests feel strongly that something must be done about Jesus. When Judas learns of the priests’ determination to bring Jesus down, the apostle is faced with a terrible choice.
